Actress Brooke Shields recently shared her harrowing experience that landed her in the hospital. Followed by a grand mal seizure in September 2023, the actress mentioned how it all happened just days before the debut of her highly anticipated Café Carlyle show, in New York.
Speaking about how she collapsed outside the restaurant L’Artusi and went headfirst into a wall, Brooke Shields recalled her guardian angel who saved her. Apparently, it’s none other than Bradley Cooper who extended his superhero compatibilities beyond the MCU and rescued Shields.
Brooke Shields Speaks About Her Harrowing Seizure
Brooke Shields finally opened up about her harrowing seizure that happened in September 2023 and almost gave her a health scare. Speaking with Glamour, the actress recalled how the incident took place before the debut of her show Previously Owned by Brooke Shields at Café Carlyle. Discussing what triggered her seizure, Shields shared,
“I was preparing for the show, and I was drinking so much water, and I didn’t know I was low in sodium. I was waiting for an Uber. I get down to the bottom of the steps, and I start evidently looking weird.”
Continuing her story, Brooke Shields mentioned how she later went to the restaurant L’Artusi, and that’s when things started going haywire. The actress mentioned feeling weird and eventually crashing headfirst into the wall.
“Then I walk into the restaurant L’Artusi…I go in, two women come up to me; I don’t know them. Everything starts to go black. Then my hands drop to my side and I go headfirst into the wall…I start having a grand mal seizure.”
The next thing Brooke Shields remembers, she was being rushed to the hospital with oxygen on. The actress recalled how she had frothing at the mouth and she felt like she was trying to swallow her own tongue. Finally, when she woke up, she found Bradley Cooper by her side holding her hand. Guess how?
Bradley Cooper Came to Brooke Shields’ Rescue
Deriving fun, even out of her grave situation, Brooke Shields stated how he saw Bradley Cooper by her side as soon as she woke up. Seeing the actor’s face, the first thing that popped into her mind was death. Not in a bad way, but she thought,
“This is what death must be like. You wake up and Bradley Cooper’s going, ‘I’m going to go to the hospital with you, Brooke,’ and he’s holding my hand. And I’m looking at my hand, I’m looking at Bradley Cooper’s hand in my hand, and I’m like, ‘This is odd and surreal.‘”
Later on, explaining how she ended up with Bradley Cooper by her side, Brooke Shields seemed to have found her guardian angel in the MCU actor. The actress discussed how Cooper’s assistant called him to help Shields after she collapsed. Further, into the conversation with Glamour, the actress explained how she ended up having the health scare.
“Low sodium. I had had too much water. I flooded my system, and I drowned myself. And if you don’t have enough sodium in your blood or urine or your body, you can have a seizure.”
Eventually, no one can deny that Bradley Cooper successfully extended his superhero compatibilities beyond his MCU role as Rocket Raccoon in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, and became Brooke Shields’ guardian angel.
