The nomination was indeed well-deserved as Austin Butler revealed that he had to chat with Elvis Presley’s ghost on how to be like him (not literally). The Carrie Diaries actor revealed that he met with Priscilla Presley (whom Elvis Presley was married to from 1967 to 1973) at Graceland where they talked about the late singer. Priscilla believed that Elvis’s spirit was there (in Graceland) and thus, Butler spent an entire day walking around the place to get to know Elvis Presley a bit better.

In an interview with The Sun, Austin Butler revealed that the time during Graceland was more about feeling the energy rather than asking questions.

“That time was less about the questions and more about trying to feel his energy, trying to feel the humanity of him. She [Priscilla] took me over to Graceland and said, ‘This is where I believe his spirit is.”

The actor further continued,

“Then I just got to spend the day in Graceland by myself and sort of sit in different rooms and think, ‘This is where they had Christmas’ and, ‘This is where he used to sit and eat breakfast’ and just humanise him.”

Being called the “King of Rock and Roll”, Elvis Presley is one of the most culturally significant icons of the 1970s. The American singer met his fate in 1977 in Graceland at the young age of 42. The Elvis movie went on to earn praise and critical acclaim as it perfectly showcased his legacy and proved people’s love and adoration for the late singer still remained.
