The introduction of Riri Williams’ Ironheart as played by Dominique Thorne in the Marvel Cinematic Universe changed the tides of the franchise with a new outlook on Iron Man’s legacy. Her entry at first was somewhat skeptical according to fans of Robert Downey Jr., especially after his performance in Avengers: Endgame. The actor set up the entire MCU with the first Iron Man and with it, the franchise took off afterward at an immediate rising, bringing about tonnes of success for the MCU.

Robert Downey Jr. left a major impact on the fans and those who adore the character. Riri Williams, a 19-year-old MIT student, can dazzle Shuri with her engineering prowess. Even though she has only begun to fill the vacuum left by Iron Man, she has already made a name for herself.

Dominique Thorne became the iconic character and it wasn’t until later that she got the opportunity to meet Downey. Her role as the next face of iron suits became a hit amongst the fans.

Thorne met the actor who portrays Tony Stark only after the filming for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was almost over. This allowed the young actor to take her angle for the character, which led to her success. Having not been bound by the values and stories of Iron Man and his journey, Riri Williams gets to create her version of what could soon be the future of Ironheart.
The upcoming show with the same name is said to explore the character even further as Dominique Thorne stated that what was seen in her latest film was merely scratching the surface of what the character is capable of. With Iron Man no longer being a future part of the franchise, the character of Riri Williams has a lot of responsibility and expectations to live up to.
