Antony Starr’s epic performance in Prime Video’s The Boys as Homelander undeniably earns him a place at the 2024 Emmy Awards, and this is why fans are heavily campaigning for the actor to land a nomination spot.
While The Boys has been previously nominated in 2021, it’s time the award-giving body recognize the efforts of Starr. It’s not every day the audience gets to witness a menacing villain on television that they both admire and despise at the same time.
Antony Starr Reacts To Emmy Awards Buzz
Speaking with Rolling Stone, actor Antony Starr revealed he isn’t quite bothered with the awards season and it’s not the reason why he pursues acting. Still, many fans believe he deserves to win his first Emmy award.
I’m not worried about it, man. As I’ve gotten older, my ambitions have changed. And I realize the mechanics behind those things, the politics and all of that. And I think, good luck to everyone, but yeah, that’s not what drives me.
Starr has cemented himself as one of the most versatile actors of this generation, proving how he can portray a terrifying villain like Homelander in several ways by giving it so many layers and dimensions. Even series creator Eric Kripke thinks it’s long overdue that Starr gets his Emmy win. He told Variety:
In Homelander’s example, Ant’s ability to give 16 facial expressions when another person gives one is just so astounding. Give that guy an Emmy already. I don’t understand why it hasn’t happened yet.
Indeed, one of the things Kripke loves about working in the television industry is seeing the evolution in everything. For instance, when the writers “see what the actor is comfortable with and what they excel at and where some of their blind spots are, you can really start playing to their strengths.”
This is exactly what he did with Homelander and even the rest of the characters. Starr’s adaptability to change was beyond incredible. It only makes sense that he gets a nomination this year.
The Boys Fans Expect Antony Starr’s Nomination For The Emmys
Fans have expressed their support for Starr to bag an Emmy nomination. Many terrific shows came out over the past few months and The Boys is absolutely one of the best ones out there.

The announcement for nominations is scheduled for July 17, while the awarding ceremony will take place on September 15.
