And now, after almost a year, the movie dropped its first clip that grabbed netizens’ attention, as Cage flawlessly steered the titular role of a man who travels to the edge of his sanity after returning to his hometown.

The Surfer narrates the tale of a man who returns to his beachside hometown in Australia, after spending years building a life for himself in the US. However, things escalate quickly after he gets humiliated in front of his teenage son by a local gang of surfers who claim strict ownership over the secluded beach of his childhood. Shockingly, Nicolas Cage’s character declares war against those in control of the bay, and all of a sudden, the film spins wildly out of control.
