For almost a decade now Vincent D’Onofrio has been serving as the Kingpin in the MCU. It appears that the MCU is now finally taking the character seriously, and is on its way to making him one of the best villains in the franchise. This is evident from the recent series Echo, where the actor has done a phenomenal job translating the character from comic pages to the screen.
Under D’Onofrio’s portrayal, the character is no longer plain and boring, although it never has been. Recent opportunities to set up the stage for what’s about to have been utilized perfectly in Echo. Kingpin has dimensions and motives that the audience can relate to, potentially making him a top-tier villain.
