Ryan Gosling had long been rumored to have been cast in the MCU as Nova, the superhuman member of the Nova Corps, which was introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol.2. The idea almost got Marvel President Kevin Feige’s endorsement too as he told Josh Horwitz of MTV News that he would love for Gosling to be a part of the MCU

Hey man, if Ryan wants to be Ghost Rider…Gosling’s unbelievable. Ryan is amazing…I’d love to find a place for him in the MCU. He’s dressed up as Ken on Venice Beach and gets more press than giant movies coming out that weekend. It’s amazing.

Though Feige is aware of Gosling’s wish, the Barbie star mentioned that there have been no new developments when he was promoting his action film The Fall Guy (via Josh Horowitz).
