Comicbook.com’s Brandon Davis has seen the film and has high praise for it. He posted on X and gave a brief social media review of the film. Davis called watching the film his best experience at the movies he’s had in a while.

Davis stated that the film has raised the bar for the franchise with its nonstop hilarious banter between its leads and the innovative action sequences. Overall, he called the movie a phenomenal one. He wrote,

Directors Adil & Bilall took over the directors’ chair and delivered the best film in the franchise with Bad Boys For Life. With the fourth film, it seems the directors are taking the franchise in a direction that is unexpected and surprising.

In an interview with Empire, Smith stated that the film will push the envelope in what one can achieve in a summer action film. Lawrence also agreed with his co-star and claimed that audiences are going to see something different from the previous films. They said,

With this movie, we’re being really aggressive in stretching what you can do in a summer action movie.
