Around the time when Sandra Bullock and Jesse James were undergoing their divorce proceedings, some disturbing photos of James surfaced. In a 2004 photo, James can be seen wearing a Nazi hat, mimicking Hitler’s mustache, and giving a Heil Hitler salute. These images received severe backlash, with many accusing the auto mechanic of promoting anti-Semitic sentiments.

Later, more unsettling photos of James were posted on Facebook by his old employees at West Coast Choppers. These images included James’ friend posing with the infamous “sieg heil” salute, as well as one featuring the children’s book character Flat Stanley dressed as Adolf Hitler.

While sources close to the motorcycle builder claimed that the photos only reflected James’ interest in history and were received in poor taste, others defended him by arguing that the use of the swastika was intended to provoke fear and was part of biker culture. James’ attorney later claimed that the hat had been given to him by his Jewish Godfather as a prank.

Jesse James was reportedly linked to Nazi-related art earlier as well. Sandra Bullock expressed her profound shock at the incidents and strongly condemned James, stating, “This is not the man I married”. The Lost City actress addressed the anti-Semitic accusations against James in an interview with People:

“The photo shocked me and made me sad. This was stupid, this was ignorant. Racism, anti-Semitism, sexism, homophobia, anything Nazi and a boatload of other things have no place in my life. And the man I married felt the same.”

Jesse James reportedly entered rehab after the cheating allegations surfaced in a futile attempt to save his marriage. He also issued apologies to the Ocean’s 8 actress and their children for subjecting them to such distressing situations.
