“Wait! Did you say you laugh at me? This whole time you’ve been laughing at me? When you had the time, you were laughing at me?”

This led the latter to reply,

“You know like when you’re a fun bully in school, you love it you have a loser. You have a loser kid like you then we all get to make fun of and make jokes about like that. It’s fun, it’s a good time!”

He further explained that this was the reason why actress, Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula also makes fun of him. The DC boss continued to laugh meanwhile Pratt was more in awe over what he witnessed back then. It would come as a surprise to many that Gunn was initially not sold to hiring the Parks and Recreation actor.

The talented filmmaker who was himself a newbie to Marvel was initially not sold when he got to know that Pratt was a potential candidate for the Marvel superhero role.

The Zero Dark Thirty actor recalled doing his ‘own thing’ when the casting process was going on.

“All I knew going in was this was an opportunity for me to try and do something that was my own thing. The thing I would do if I was given the budget to make an action-comedy.”

When casting director, Sarah Finn pitched for him, The Suicide Squad director was unimpressed as he recalled him as “The chubby guy from Parks and Rec?” However, his audition eventually won the director’s heart with Pratt getting onboard to play Star-Lord.
