Downey Jr And Law recalled one particular instance while filming in England, when the Marvel alum dragged his co-star towards a few rubber prop bodies in order to have a fun stomp on them. But to the Golden Globe winner’s horror, he realized that one particular prop did not feel like rubber. Narrating the anecdote on The Graham Norton Show to peals of laughter, the two actors laid down the facts.

”Yeah so Robert leans over to me and goes, ‘check this out this’ll be really funny’. There’s a big hand lying there and so he steps on it as hard as he can. And the extra starts screaming, “For the love of God!!!” We didn’t know he was alive!”

Downey Jr took over the hilarious story at this point and jokingly pointed out that if they had been in America, a lawsuit would have beckoned for inflicting bodily harm on a person. But as it turned out, the amiable extra on set was gracious enough to see the funny side of it and even expressed pride on being stepped on by Sherlock Holmes himself!

Robert Downey Jr And Jude Law Shared More Than A Bromance

The word ‘bromance’ comes readily to mind when one thinks of the chemistry between Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law. Much like their protagonists Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson, the two celebrities hit it off like a house on fire and were integral to the film and its sequel doing great business at the box office. Law though, believed that the word ‘bromance’ did not do justice to the relationship he shared with his co-star. Downey Jr further elaborated on this and why their partnership worked, to the Daily Echo.

“People talk about chemistry, but what does that really mean? We were just having lunch trying to figure it out, and we’re really grateful it comes across that way. We work really hard, and we have respect for each other. Certain of us have been in sequels that sucked, and we wanted to try and avoid those pitfalls.”

The Judge star added that while Guy Ritchie’s modernized and stylish take on the Arthur Conan Doyle classic was a breath of fresh air, he believed that the richness of the characters and the various actors who have portrayed them over the years were also great reference points to develop on.
