“We never rehearsed anything, and those were really dark days. We shot the beginning of our relationship first, and it was fun and alive. Then we did the sex scenes and it was…toxic. Ryan and I had stopped relating to each other as Ryan and Michelle.”

Williams opened up about how the movie was filmed. First, the giddy and joyous scenes were filmed, switching very quickly to their intimate scenes. These transitions were not something she enjoyed and acknowledged just how toxic things were for them. She would even go home and turn on loud music so that she could scream, letting out all the frustration that had been piling within her. Both the actors were at the mercy of their roles and how Cindy and Dean, their characters, had been running their lives for that particular duration of time.
