The entry of a new character into any media franchise is always an exciting prospect. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has always done this in quite fashionable ways, and with the upcoming release of Thunderbolts, the billion-dollar franchise is reportedly set to introduce a new character for fans to go crazy over once again.
The MCU’s answer to DC Universe’s Suicide Squad group is the team of antiheroes known as Thunderbolts. While the wait for the release of the movie adaptation of the antihero team is creating a lot of anticipation and excitement, reports of a new character being added to the MCU is just further heightening the hype.

We all love surprises in movies, like the sudden cameos of your favorite movie stars in a movie that you didn’t expect to see them in. Or maybe even the easter eggs that have been hidden throughout the movie by its director to tease fans and create hype.

For fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, surprises are commonplace at this point. Some good, some bad (like the unexpected killing off of Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame). But this time fans will finally be graced with some good news- a new character is reportedly about to add to the massive family of characters in the MCU in the upcoming Thunderbolts movie.

Industry insider KC Walsh, who is majorly active on Twitter, tweeted some spicy news regarding the entry of a brand new supersoldier character into the MCU-

As it turns out it is Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, the Director of the CIA in the MCU played by Black Panther star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, is the person who is responsible for the creation of the new supersoldier.
It all sounds exciting to have a new character in the MCU, but it’s even more exciting to know that we’ll be getting more super soldiers in the franchise.
So Is The New Super Soldier Character The Villain For Thunderbolts?
So who’s going to be the antagonist for Thunderbolts? The team of antiheroes will reportedly be facing the director of the CIA ( in the MCU) as the ultimate villain. And the catalyst for this showdown between the antiheroes will be a super soldier who will do the fighting for Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ character.

Corroborating both reports, we might just be getting another Bucky or Steve Rogers-level strong villain for the Thunderbolts team to battle out against. Because after all, the director of the CIA is funding the whole process!
Thunderbolts is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 26, 2024.
