In fact, Dune: Part Two has managed to pull something off that not even the highest-grossing film of 2023 could – get the approval of columnist Ben Shapiro. Crazy, right? Well, Ben Shapiro recently came out with an eight-minute-long review of Timothée Chalamet’s Dune: Part Two, where he just couldn’t help himself from gushing over the film.

This just might be the greatest compliment for director Denis Villeneuve yet. If any of you reading this has ever come across a video from Ben Shapiro, you know that the man is not easy to please. The political commentator recently took to YouTube to post a detailed review of Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya’s recent feat, and his positive comments further prove that Dune: Part Two is worth all the hype. After all, it is not easy to please Shapiro, ask Barbie!

In his review, Shapiro called the Dune films, “the single greatest science fiction epic movie achievement of all time.” He continued,

“It looks absolutely phenomenal. The acting is topnotch, the score is great. It has probably the best visual effects I’ve ever seen on film because you don’t sense the CGI. Normally, when you have this much CGI, you really sense it a lot. Here you do not sense the CGI. You’re on multiple planets throughout Dune 2, and they all have different color schemes, different color palettes, and different looks, and it’s really pretty phenomenal.”

Shapiro then went on to deep dive into the details of the film before concluding that Dune 2 was “a really good movie. A really interesting movie. And again, if they don’t end up making a part three, it will live on its own as a fulsome film experience”

As for the rating, Shapiro has awarded the sequel with five out of five stars. Clearly, he is impressed!

Ben Shapiro Didn’t Share The Same Feelings for Barbie

Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie‘s Barbie was absolutely groundbreaking with how it managed to portray such an intense part of reality through fun storytelling, disguising it under the glamor of the color pink. Needless to say, it worked out in the film’s favor as Barbie went on to become the highest-grossing film of 2023 with $1.4 billion at the box office. However, Shapiro was not a fan.

While reviewing Barbie in almost an hour-long video, Shapiro hinted at the film being a dumpster fire as he threw Barbie and Ken in a trashcan and set it ablaze before stating, “The things I do for my audience.” Shapiro continued,

“Well, folks, wasting two hours of my precious time, two hours I will never get back, two hours around my deathbed I will wish that I had not spent that time doing. It makes me viscerally angry.”

However, moments after the review was posted online, Shapiro found himself on the receiving end of backlash where fans trolled him for going to see Barbie, just to get mad later. YouTuber Connor Frants also poked fun at the columnist for saying that his “producers dragged” him to see the film.

Clearly, the majority of the world does not agree with Shapiro, but hey, do you think that’s enough to change his viewpoint? Absolutely not!
