Having a character list as big as Bleach makes it difficult for manga creators to select their favorite character based on basic aspects. However, this is not the case for Kubo. The manga creator has been quite straightforward and vocal in his choice to select his favorite characters, irrespective of their gender or personality.
Generally, the preference is based on the character’s personality, his powers, his strength, his importance in the story, and other such aspects. But Kubo’s preference is based on entirely different things, especially in the case of female characters. The manga creator once revealed that he chose his favorite female characters based on their bust size.
He even pointed out that, as of yet, his current favorite female character is Noel Niihashi, the protagonist of Burn the Witch, which is a Bleach spinoff series based in the same universe as Bleach. The story focuses on the western branch of Soul Society in reverse London.
Tite Kubo’s Favorite Bleach Character
While answering some questions for his official fan club, Klub Outside, Kubo was asked about his favorite female character and how he chooses between them. Kubo mentioned that his preference for a favorite female character is solely based on their br***t sizes. He has been quite vocal about these preferences since the beginning of the series.
Kubo stated:
I choose my favorite female characters based solely on whether they have big breasts or not, so if it’s between these two, it’s Noel.
Based on these preferences, his favorite character is Noel Niihashi. Niihashi is a witch agent of Wing Bind who deals in the protection and control of dragons.
Kubo’s preferences are certainly uncanny. The mangaka even revealed that the br***ts are also the most difficult physical element to draw while creating the manga. He pointed out that as the size increases, the difficulty level also rises. However, this doesn’t stop Kubo from creating female characters that follow the same aspects.
Burn the Witch’s Noel Niihashi is Tite Kubo’s Favorite Female Character
Tite Kubo choosing Noel as his favorite Bleach female character is certainly weird, as the character is not part of the main storyline. Noel’s character comes from Burn the Witch, which is a spinoff series that follows an entirely different storyline and theme despite being created in the same universe.
She, along with her partner Ninny Spangcole, works for Wing Bind and tries to keep London safe from dragon attacks. Noel is the protagonist of Burn the Witch, and her story started after Kubo ended Bleach completely in 2016. The manga series has a movie and an anime series that came out in 2020 and 2023, respectively.
Burn the Witch has become quite popular among Bleach fans, and the series has certainly gotten a good reception, especially for the main characters. However, the story nowhere even comes close to the world-building, character development, and twists of the Bleach series. But Kubo choosing a character from Burn the Witch as his favorite character certainly speaks for the story, irrespective of his preferences.
