Argylle features the Man of Steel actor in several action sequences. While speaking about those on Extra TV, he was asked if his friend, Tom Cruise gave him any advice on stunts. Cavill responded that although Cruise did not give him any advice, he was impressed and inspired by the legend’s dedication to his craft.

“I don’t know if he’s necessarily given me any particular advice. It’s more about just watching the dedication he puts into stuff and that’s advice all in itself.”

There was a tap dancing sequence of Henry Cavill and Sam Rockwell in the upcoming film that was ultimately cut. The Enola Holmes actor looked insecure about only Cruise doing his stunts. He jokingly added that similar to how Tom Cruise performs all his stunts, he and Rockwell also learned how to tap dance for the film.

Henry Cavill acknowledged that it is a different level of dedication to give your 100% to whatever you do. The Justice League actor admitted that he and Rockwell also tried to bring such dedication to the upcoming film and perform their stunts even though it was very difficult.

Cavill explained that his action sequences needed the actors to watch each other fight and try to mimic to some extent.

“It’s a lot of time spent watching each other perform the fight because normally, if you’re doing your bit then everyone says, ‘Okay, we’re going to move another actor and work with them. You can sit down and relax,’ but with Sam and I… the important bit was watching the other actor so we could try and mimic them to a degree.”
