The Flash director Andy Muschietti and producer Barbara Muschietti recently sat down for an interview and revealed that they got a major confidence boost after actor Tom Cruise called them and praised them for their work. The movie dives into the concept of multiverse and fans will get to see Michael Keaton’s Batman and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl.

Recently, director Andy Muschietti and his sister, producer, and screenwriter, Barbara Muschietti talked about their latest project, The Flash. During the interview with GamesRadar, Barbara Muschietti revealed that actor Tom Cruise praised their work,

“It’s a very cynical industry, and to hear people that really have no skin in the game, because they have nothing to gain, just say something that lovely – in the case of Tom Cruise, he called us, talked for 15 minutes, praising Andy, praising the film, and it just feels very good because we really work very hard to make these movies.”

Receiving approval from a seasoned actor like Tom Cruise is obviously a big deal. Despite starring in so many blockbuster hits, Tom Cruise never got the chance to portray a superhero.

In the same interview, Andy Muschietti explained how he approached the character of Michael Keaton’s Batman. The director said,

“It’s always a thrill to speculate or imagine that Batman will come back, but also the thing that was very exciting to me was basically filling the space of those 30 years where we haven’t seen what Bruce is up to and that was part of my conversations with Michael Keaton, and it was great because we had a lot of fun creating that timeline where we don’t know what he did.”

A lot of changes were made, including a refurbished Batcave, a new Batwig, a new Batsuit, and some more changes. However, Batmobile remained untouched.

In The Flash, fans get to see the return of General Zod, and this time, Supergirl will fight him. Since the concept was somewhat picked up from Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel (2013), Andy Muschietti revealed that he talked to Zack Snyder,

“I talked to Zack but it wasn’t technical or narrative or anything. I just wanted to reach out and say, ‘Hey.’ Because we haven’t met before, and I just wanted to tell him that we would be respectful to the stuff that he did before.” Barbara Muschietti then added, “And to the cast he put together.” Andy Muschietti continued, “Man of Steel obviously is foundational to this movie because the big threat of Zod coming to Earth is a big twist in this story, and it’s something that most DC fans know very well and that’s one of the great things that can form the narrative of this movie.”

Ezra Miller appeared at The Flash‘s premiere in Los Angeles for the first time since their controversies came into the limelight. The actor made headlines for several legal troubles including, assault, grooming, and burglary last year.

The Flash is all set to hit the theatres on 16th June 2023.
