When Tom Cruise Helped Arnold Schwarzenegger Out

Wanting to meet the actors, Schwarzenegger had to desperately fly out from where he was located. Since his private jet was being serviced by engineers, Tom Cruise gladly offered to help. As per the reports, Cruise lent his own private jet to the Predator actor who took the plane onto the sets of Universal Soldier. There, he was greeted by Jean Claude Van Damme who gave him a tour of the set.

The two then went to Van Damme’s trailer where they had a hefty lunch of chicken breast with pasta and some gentlemen’s cigars to keep them company. Having done all of it, Schwarzenegger returned Tom Cruise’s private jet back to the actor unharmed. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean Claude Van Damme would later meet in the 2012 movie titled The Expendables 2.

The infamous rivalry between Schwarzenegger and his dear friend/arch-rival Sylvester Stallone has become quite famous. Being competitive in nature, the duo had quite some fights on and off-screen back in the 80s and the 90s and Stallone is here to talk about it.

“We despised each other tremendously. We were… this may sound a little vain, but I believe we were pioneering a kind of genre at the time that hasn’t really been seen since. So, because it’s in his character, he’s highly competitive, as am I… and I simply felt that helped, but off-screen we were still competing, which was not healthy, but we’ve become very close friends.”

In the end, they did become quite good friends as they would also star together in the 2012 movie titled The Expendables 2. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and, Jean Claude Van Damme, the 2012 movie is currently available to stream on Netflix in the U.S.
