Tom Cruise will soon be coming out with yet another insane addition to the Mission: Impossible franchise. Going bigger and better, the film will (obviously) feature some of the most unimaginable stunts performed by none other than Tom Cruise himself. We did get a glimpse into the insanity when the actor drove a motorcycle off a cliff!

Actress Pom Klementieff, who is popularly known for playing Mantis in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, will be joining Tom Cruise for a piece of that action. In the film, her character gets into a brawl with Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt and she had a specific request for the lead actor which he absolutely denied.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Pom Klementieff opened up about her character, Paris, and why she was a force to reckon with. In Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Paris and Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt go head to head in a fight. And if anyone has seen Klementieff’s previous work, they know not to judge her by her looks – she knows what she’s doing!

Perhaps to make the fight more believable, Klementieff had an unusual request for Cruise. She wanted him to kick her in the stomach. However, the Top Gun: Maverick actor was in no mood to oblige, no matter how much Klementieff persuaded him. The actress told Entertainment Weekly,

“I kept telling him to just kick me here. I was squeezing abs. [I said], ‘You can just go for it.’ He was like ‘No, no, no, no, no.’ I was like, ‘But it’s going to help me!’ But he wouldn’t do it.”

Well, you can ask Cruise to ride a bike into the abyss or fly a helicopter and he’d be more than happy to oblige. However, hurting his co-stars for real is where he draws the line.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One will have Klementieff pairing up with the film’s main antagonist, Gabriel, who’s played by Esai Morales. Well, it is safe to say that Gabriel couldn’t have chosen a better partner as the actress describes Paris as someone who “destroys everything in her path.” She added, “She’s a rebel, she’s a killer, she’s extremely skilled and quite lonely too.”

Even director Christopher McQuarrie had something to say about Paris. In his own words, Klementieff’s character is “very, very, very much a chaotic element in the story.”  He added that she is not someone who is going to fade in the background and thus, viewers should expect a lot from the character’s story.

“It doesn’t matter how deep in the background she is, you’re going to be watching her at all times and wondering what she’s going to do.”

We sure are excited to see a face-off between Cruise’s Ethan Hunt and Klementieff’s Paris. It sure won’t be easy for the super spy to get out of this mess!
