And maybe that is the reason why Tom Hardy had to negotiate his fight scenes with Christian Bale while co-starring in DCEU’s The Dark Knight Rises, claiming he was scared of the Batman actor.

Despite being one of the most loved as well as most feared actors in Hollywood thanks to his outright frightening demeanor and the characters he plays, if there’s one actor that Tom Hardy is scared of, it’s Christian Bale. And he admits to it.

In an interview regarding DCU’s The Dark Knight Rises, where Bale portrayed Batman while Hardy embodied the villainous Bane, the Venom actor was asked if he managed to ‘kick Batman’s a– yet’. To this, Hardy replied by laughing and saying,

“Batman’s kicking our a–. (laughs) I think I wouldn’t want to. Christian Bale is not the kind of guy you want to p-ss off. (laughs) It’s like we negotiate these fight scenes. Uh, I can’t answer that.”

Turns out the highly commendable Christian Bale‘s dark characters aren’t petrifying to his audience only but to his peers and co-stars as well!

However, Tom Hardy wasn’t the only one praising the Batman actor. Christian Bale’s co-stars in The Dark Knight Rises also seem to have a hard time stopping when asked to say a few words about him and his personality.

In an interview starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Gary Oldman following the release of their Batman movie together, Gordon-Levitt went ahead to reveal his awe-struck perception of the way Bale portrays his character, especially Batman, saying,

“When Christian puts on that suit, it’s really there. There’s no added digital… anything. That just looks like a movie when he’s got it on. He looks like a legend. He doesn’t look like a person anymore. He looks like [The Batman].”

Continuing his co-star’s confession, Gary Oldman too went ahead to praise the Batman actor, saying,

“He changes in the suit, doesn’t he? [Yeah] There’s something that’s quite, uh, forbidding about him when he’s on the set with you.”

While it’s not out of the blue that Christian Bale’s co-stars come out in the spotlight to admit just how wonderful of an actor he is, the 49-year-old actor certainly deserves all the love and respect that he gets for no one could ever portray his characters, especially Batman, better than him.
