Tom Holland is one of the most popular actors of his generation. The 26-year-old actor, who picked up the mantle of Spider-Man/Peter Parker, started with Captain America: Civil War (2016), and ended up becoming the face of Marvel’s $9.8 billion franchise. Despite playing in billions, fans are wondering if Holland would dive into Antonio Bandera’s Zorro movies.

But again, The Legend of Zorro actor also expressed that he would consider the possibility of returning in a future reboot. He mentioned in his interview:

“Yes, I would. I would consider that possibility. Why not? I think during today’s interviews I said something like that to somebody… I said that if they call it Zorro, I will do what Anthony Hopkins did in the first movie and so give the torch to somebody else.”

Before this, Banderas expressed his interest in reprising the masked vigilante when  Quentin Tarantino approached him in 2020 for a “Django and Zorro crossover” film.

Antonio Banderas’ Idea Of Tom Holland As The Hero Of Mexico Needs Reconsideration!

Antonio Banderas may have expressed his interest in having Holland as the next Zorro, but the Cherry actor hasn’t commented to date about his supposed interest in portraying the dashing masked vigilante, known for defending the “commoners and indigenous people” of California.

It is fair to suggest that Tom Holland is also facing the burden of bigger franchises, including the possibility of Uncharted getting a sequel. As for the role of Zorro, sung as one of the most iconic Latine heroes in popular culture, it is logical to offer the role to actors of the correct background to offer justice to Zorro’s character.

While there has been no word on a possible third installment, John Gertz, founder of Zorro Production and a producer on the predecessor movies, is set to executive-produce a Spanish, Zorro series reboot of the original 1957 series.

Carlos Portela’s Zorro reboot series will release on Prime Video in the U.S., Latin America, and Spain.
