Everyone who follows the news about Marvel Studios and the MCU might know the amazing relationship that Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr. share with each other. Although their relationship is filled with love and respect, sometimes there are certain moments in their lives when they can’t reach out to one another. Thus, one time, when Holland couldn’t pick up the call from the Iron Man star, he had a full-blown panic attack as he thought that he had thrown a wrench in their relationship.

Just like the relationship between Tony Stark and Peter Parker in the MCU, Tom Holland derives a great amount of respect and admiration for his fellow Avengers star Robert Downey Jr. as he calls him his mentor in the film industry and the man that gave him the inspiration and motivation to play his role of Spider-Man in the MCU with finesse in every second of his performance. That said, he is also a little too jumpy when it comes to interacting with the star, so much so that he was panicked beyond anything when he once left him unanswered on the phone.

During an interview with Seth Meyers on his talk show, the Uncharted star was talking about his experiences while shooting Spider-Man: No Way Home, where he revealed what it was like to work with other people from the industry as well as the struggles that came with wearing a superhero suit all the time. So, when Meyers asked about how it felt like to have Downey Jr.’s phone number, the star recalled an incident that gave him a panic attack. He said:

“I think we were in London, and he FaceTimed me at 2:00 in the morning, and I didn’t even check who it was. I was like ‘Who is that?’ and I hung up. And I woke up in the morning, and in my phone he’s saved as ‘The Godfather’. So I woke up and I panicked. I was like ‘Oh my god I am so sorry I didn’t mean to ghost you’. He obviously didn’t reply for ages because of the time difference in L.A. So that was the most stressful day of my life where I though my relationship with Downey was over”

This just to shows how much Holland respects and admires the company and his relationship with his idol in both reel and real life.

After leaving the MCU as the web-slinger in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland has been taking it slow with selecting roles for himself in the industry, although there have been sources telling about why that is the case. many reports from different sources suggest that the star has already taken the decision to reprise his role as Peter Parker in the speculated Spider-Man 4 that will go under production for Sony’s expansion of the SpiderVerse.
