Tom Holland’s Misery Continues as Marvel Reportedly Making Tobey Maguire Lead ‘Avengers 6’ With Hugh Jackman as Wolverine

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently in Phase Five under The Multiverse Saga and is soon about to enter Phase Six, several updates and rumors keep popping up every now and then about the upcoming phase, which currently includes Fantastic Four (2025), Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (2026), and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027).

One of these recent reports has been about the sixth installment of the Avengers film series, which claims that Tobey Maguire will be reprising his role of Spider-Man in the upcoming movie scheduled for 2027. Not only this, but it has also claimed that Marvel will reportedly be making Maguire’s web-slinger lead Avengers: Secret Wars with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine by his side.

Following the rumors surrounding Deadpool 3 and the other upcoming films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a new report popped up on X claiming to have revealed the name of the two superheroes who will be the leading faces of the sixth installment from the Avengers movie series:

While Jackman reprising the mutant in Secret Wars doesn’t quite come as a surprise considering how he will be seen in the upcoming Deadpool 3 as well–nor does the fact that he might be leading the upcoming 2027 film seem out-of-the-blue considering how he is pretty much a leader–reports claiming Maguire coming back to play the web-slinger, on the other hand, is some big news.

Ever since the first Spider-Man player made his triumphant return to the big screen in Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have been wanting to see more of him in action in films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Perhaps, if these reports are true, most fans’ dreams might actually come true.
