Marvel’s Spider-Man has witnessed a seamless transition from comic book to the big screen, beginning with Sam Raimi’s 2002 film starring Tobey Maguire. Following Maguire’s impressive turn, Andrew Garfield took on the responsibility of portraying the webbed superhero with equal success. With the advent of the MCU, Tom Holland then stepped in as Spider-Man, and also joined the Avengers in saving the world.
While all 3 actors brought their own unique aspects to the character through their performances, a scientifically researched article on the strength of Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, proved that the latter’s version of Marvel’s loved superhero was stronger, based on one common scene in both their films.

Why Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Was Stronger Than Tobey Maguire’s Superhero
Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland gave Spider-Man very different nuances in their films, with all three actors receiving praise for the way they portrayed the Marvel superhero. While it is difficult to compare and contrast their performances, one aspect of their skill was analyzed scientifically to see who came out on top.
In an article that appeared in Wired, the strength of Tobey Maguire’s and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man was put to the test to see who took top honors. Both stars had similar scenes in their films which involved stopping a moving vehicle in its tracks using their webs. While Maguire’s Spider-Man saves a moving train from crashing in 2004’s Spider-Man 2, Holland’s Peter Parker achieved the same feat involving a ferry.
Through extensive research into the physics of how both versions of Spider-Man used their power to save the stranded people in dire circumstances, it was found that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man pulled a force that was equivalent to 219 elephants, while Maguire’s character exert a strength that was close to only 1 elephant. While the article cautioned viewers that this theory was based on estimations only, the huge difference in the result proved that Holland was indeed the more powerful Spider-Man.

Could There Be A Spider-Man 4 For Tom Holland?
It has been over two years since Tom Holland impressed audiences in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Following the massive success of the film, fans have been waiting eagerly for information about a possible 4th film in the series. While there has not been any concrete update on this front, the British star confirmed back in June, that he was in definite talks with the franchise regarding Spider-Man 4, but refrained from committing to any details. In an interview with Variety, Holland also commented on the Actors Strike and said,
“I can’t talk about that, but I can say that we have been having meetings. We’ve put the meetings on pause in solidarity with the writers. There’s been multiple conversations had, but at this point it’s very, very early stages.”
With Holland’s Spider-Man being one of the most popular characters in the MCU as well as gaining huge popularity in the standalone films, Marvel buffs will hope that the actor can bring more to the character through a 4th film.
