UFC 284’s Controversial Unanimous Decision

UFC 284 recently witnessed one of its best matches between Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski for the lightweight championship. Before the match, Volkanovski revealed that Makhachev was taking him lightly and that he will make sure to change his mind. Volkanovski surely did that from the very first round as he clipped Makhachev pretty early.

Makhachev tried his best to grapple Volkanovski but surely failed to do it. Fans were excited to see the match as everyone assumed way before the beginning of the match that Islam Makhachev would win because of Alexander Volkanovski’s smaller size. Yet things didn’t turn out as expected and the match became a tough battle where both the fighters suffered injuries.

To viewers it was pretty evident that Volkanovski was winning the match as he kept up his best performance from the very beginning and expected him to win at the end but as mentioned earlier things didn’t turn out as expected and Makhachev was declared the winner by the judges on unanimous grounds. This decision shocked everyone and the panel invited the audience’s wrath who believed that the decision was unfair.

Chris Pratt’s Tweet Sparked The Fire

While fans were against the panel’s decision and demanded an explanation for Makhachev’s win, it appears like the Guardians of The Galaxy star had something else to say. Chris Pratt took to his Twitter to congratulate the controversial winner of the match and appreciated the opponent’s tough fight. The actor’s statement made it obvious that he was completely fine with the panel’s decision which the internet was claiming as unjust. It didn’t take much longer for Volkanovski supporters and the UFC 284 fans, in general, to react to Pratt’s tweet.
