Film industry insider and YouTuber John Campea has made a bold claim that nobody is entirely aware of what MCU is about right now. Allegedly digging at Kevin Feige’s habit of introducing more characters, while audiences are getting confused with the previous ones and their consistency in MCU, Campea’s claim has sparked a lot of interest among fans.
While some netizens slammed John Campea for his lack of knowledge regarding the MCU and his surprising comments, others supported the YouTuber. Openly sending out a warning message for Kevin Feige as he prepares to introduce X-Men into the MCU rather than building a gripping storyline, netizens call out Marvel Studios’ lack of depth.
Social Media Uproar Following John Campea’s Comments
Ever since the end of Avengers: Endgame in 2019, the MCU has taken a weird turn where audiences witnessed a lack of gripping storyline, baseless character arcs, and unnecessary introduction of new characters into the MCU. This led fans to feel frustrated with the studio and call out Kevin Feige’s strategy.
Addressing this very outrage, industry insider John Campea expressed his disappointment in the studio. Claiming that amid all sorts of character introductions and new projects, fans are getting lost in the multiversal web, John Campea called out MCU. Stating that no one is completely aware of what the studio is up to or what they are about, Campea made some bold comments about Kevin Feige‘s MCU.
And this is a small example of the problem with MCU fandom as a whole. They've spelled shit out for the saga since Loki S1 and yet people are still saying this 3 years later pic.twitter.com/yCUCgwDQFl

MCU: *Phase 4 is the Multiverse Saga
MCU: *Shows multiverse shenanigans a million times this Phase
MCU: *Literally shows a Secret Wars comic in #DeadpoolAndWolverine

It's the Multiverse Saga.
Marvel Studios is setting up the stage for a multiversal conflict.
Multiverse has been cracking this entire time.
The Spider-Verse movies, No Way Home, MoM, What If, Loki…
If they can't see the vision, they're probably just not paying attention. https://t.co/ZCAefRdSew

Thereafter, quite obviously, Campea’s remarks were met with both support and hatred on social media. With some people calling out John Campea’s lack of knowledge despite being an industry insider, others criticized the YouTuber for his harsh comments. Missing out on the point that Campea was trying to assert, few fans even began explaining how easy it is to understand and track MCU’s works.
However, amid all the hatred directed towards the YouTuber, a few netizens stood in favor of Campea and called out Kevin Feige for creating a mess out of the MCU.
Netizens Send Out a Warning Message for Kevin Feige’s MCU
As Kevin Feige prepares MCU for further introduction of new characters from the X-Men universe, fans call out the Marvel President for his strategy. Corroborating with John Campea’s comments, netizens send out a warning to Feige, ahead of X-Men introduction and Avengers: Secret Wars, about the lack of depth that needs to be eradicated before anything.
While X-Men’s introduction into the MCU is something that fans are excited about, netizens clarify that they would also love to witness their favorite characters getting depth to themselves. Industry insider Daniel Richtman even clarified that the MCU should have focused on fewer characters as they did for the Infinity Saga.
There is a clear plan. That being said I still have a problem with this saga – it has too many new characters. They should have focused on less characters like they did for the Infinity Saga, and have more focus on non-MCU characters since it is the MULTIVERSE Saga https://t.co/ahuNn8XNDc

Too much breadth and not enough depth.
Introducing new characters is good, but none have had multi-movie character arcs to the same degree that the core Avengers got in Phase 1-3 despite there being as many MCU projects post-Endgame as there were pre-Endgame rn.

Replying to Daniel Richtman’s tweet about focusing on fewer characters in the MCU, one netizen corroborated that too many characters in the cinematic universe could ruin fan-favorite heroes with a lack of good storytelling. Considering the negative reception of a recent few Marvel projects, netizens seemingly warned Kevin Feige to focus on story and character depths rather than new introductions.
