Top Gun: Maverick director, Joseph Kosinski said that his upcoming movie would not overuse CGI. After the huge success of his previous film, he is working on a movie with Brad Pitt and he promises real action. It is an F1 racing movie with real races and cars. Top Gun 2 broke all records after its release, the audience tired of heavy CGI loved to watch some real action. Tom Cruise is known for performing many of his stunts, even deadly ones on his own. But in the movie, the rest of the cast was trained to do the same. Now, in the upcoming movie by the director, we can see similar action.
Joseph Kosinski promises real races and cars in his upcoming film
The director, Joseph Kosinski told the wrap that he would prefer effects created with the camera. He said, “Certainly seeing people react to an in-camera, authentically captured film like Top Gun makes us all feel good that our approach works and is appreciated by audiences.” He wants to make the viewers feel like they are in the high-speed cars themselves.
He further added, “It’s almost funny to me to see people who are so enamored with real photography. Younger people almost haven’t seen a lot of it. They’re so used to CGI [computer-generated images] being a tool of big movies that when you shoot something for real, it feels innovative. That’s exactly the approach for Formula One … to shoot at the real races and real cars and capture them. It’s going to be a huge challenge but an exciting one for me.”
Everything we know so far about the upcoming film
The film will be the story of a retired Formula One racer, played by Brad Pitt, who comes back to train a rookie, who aims to be big. The script of the film is written by Ehren Kruger and Jerry Bruckheimer is producing the movie along with Plan B. Not much is known about the cast and title of the film.
At the same time, Joseph Kosinski is having a great 2022. Top Gun: Maverick has crossed the $800 million mark at the worldwide Box Office. It is the highest-grossing movie of Tom Cruise’s career.
