Shockingly the concert turned out to be bait to catch a serial killer at loose named The Butcher. Now this is already a tense situation, and the director makes it even more suspenseful by dropping hints that implied Hartnett was the killer.
The revelation comes as we see Josh Hartnett going to the bathroom and opening his phone, to a live stream of a bound and gagged man. Not a subtle hint, but a bang in the face implied that the father (Hartnett), is The Butcher. But wait, did M. Night Shyamalan really drop such a major spoiler in the trailer, or there’s more to the story? It certainly seems a bit impractical to reveal the killer in the trailer itself. Or is it a way of tickling viewers’ curiosity and creating further suspense?

A user named Zack Cherry posted the twist to the storyline, as they pointed out that Josh Hartnett isn’t the killer, instead he’s trying to protect The Butcher, who is actually his daughter. Speculating the plot twist considering M. Night Shyamalan’s twisted films, Cherry seemingly figured out the reality.

Cherry disclosed how the filmmaker tried using the trailer to suggest that Josh Hartnett was The Butcher, but knowing Shyamalan, the twist seems pretty clear that the “daughter is some demon spawn who needs to feed on human flesh”. If Zack Cherry’s deduction turns out to be true, then the director might need to work a bit more hand in his next project, so as to make it impossible to decode.
