Starfield has been out for all gamers and Xbox GamePass subscribers now, and players are making the most of the game, lifting off to explore planets and galaxies. The space adventure received an awesome response after the game was released to gamers with early access, and over the next few days, also by critics and reviewers. Now that the game is out for all those who grabbed the game, and Xbox GamePass subscribers, Xbox Head posted that as of yesterday, a total of 6 million gamers played the game concurrently on Xbox and PC combined.

Gamers have also been getting quite creative as well, in terms of character customizations and building their unique spaceships. From characters that resemble celebrities to spaceships from popular movies, gamers have been busy enjoying Bethesda’s polished game with nearly zero major bugs and glitches. Sadly, the game has also started getting review-bombed, which has started pushing the game down the Metacritic rankings.

As the game gets celebrated by fans and critics equally, those who haven’t started the adventure yet can lift off for a lot less than the base edition price of $69.99. Starfield has been part of the GamePass library since Day One, and gamers can subscribe either with a $10.99 Console-only GamePass monthly subscription or those with a PC capable of handling the game’s requirements can grab the subscription for $9.99 per month to join the fun.

Starfield is going down the Metacritic rankings, all thanks to review-bombers

Starfield is already getting review-bombed, and the reasons have been varying from an outdated engine being used by Bethesda, to a lifeless and monotonous experience. Reading through the comments left behind by the recent reviewers, it becomes quite apparent that they have been focused more on bombing the game with their reviews as a lot of the reviews were not making much sense. From boring and slow starts to the game to the game not running well on desktops.

Starfield still had a successful launch, and it’s also contributed to increased sales of Xbox Series X and S consoles, as well as a lot of new members joining Xbox GamePass subscriptions. Review bombing or not, the game is being enjoyed by the gaming community, and in a few more weeks, after more gamers get their hands on the game, there are bound to be more genuine reviews coming in to steady the ratings.

Starfield Has No Ground Vehicle, Todd Howard Explains Reasoning

Gamers have the option to use a jet pack to explore planets in Starfield
Gamers have the option to use a jet pack to explore planets in Starfield

Game Director Todd Howard also revealed the reasoning behind a major missing feature in the game, as Starfield has no ground vehicles. Howard’s explanation was quite straightforward as he explained that not all planets have the same gravitational pull, and hence having a land vehicle wouldn’t make much sense. Howard did clarify that the game does have an unlockable and upgradeable jet pack that gamers can choose to use when exploring planets.

There are 1,000 planets for gamers to explore and while traversing on foot might not be ideal everywhere, a jet pack would definitely be a good alternative. It can also be quite useful regardless of a planet’s conditions. Come the weekend, more gamers will have time to get a first hands-on with the game, no doubt.
