The story revolves around a boy named Kenji and his friends. Odd things started to happen around Kenji, and they had to face off against a cult leader, who goes by the name of ‘Friend’.
20th Century Boys is a great manga belonging to the mystery genre. One Reddit user, Revolutionary_Pie, mentioned how incredible it would be to have 20th Century Boys as an anime. The only negative point about it is that it is slow-paced, and people have to wait until the end for big revelations. Nonetheless, an anime adaptation of 20th Century Boys is a must-have for every anime lover.
5. Dungeon Meshi
Dungeon Meshi is written by Ryoko Kui. The manga ended in September 2023, after having begun its serialization in February 2014. It belongs to the fantasy, seinen, and comedy genre. Dungeon Meshi follows the incidents after the Golden Kingdom is sunken by a powerful magician. The King declared that the one who defeated the magician would get all of his treasure.
People have been demanding an anime adaptation of Dungeon Meshi as soon as possible. Reddit users have often said that Dungeon Meshi is too good of a manga to not get animated. People who have read it want it to be animated. This wish will be fulfilled by Studio Trigger, who is currently adapting it into an anime.
4. Sweat and Soap
Sweat and Soap manga started in 2018 and ended in 2021. It is written by Kintetsu Yamada. It is a romantic manga but with a little twist. It follows the story of an office worker, Asako Yaeshima, who feels insecure due to her over-perspiring and body odor problem. However, the lead product developer falls in love with her and finds her to be inspiring.
Sweat and Soap follows a weird premise, but that does not mean that it is bad. It is one of the new-generation romantic anime that sends a social message. It is a fan-favorite manga, and after so much waiting, it has finally been adapted into a live-action.
3. Dandadan
Dandadan is written by Yukinobu Tatsu. The manga began in April 2021 and has 11 volumes till now. Dandadan revolves around a boy named Ken Takakura and a girl named Momo Ayase. Ken believes in supernatural things but does not believe in ghosts, and Momo does not believe in aliens. After visiting places associated with supernatural and occult things, they have a change of mind.
Dandadan is an ongoing manga that needs to have an anime adaptation. Action, romance, thriller, everything can be found in the manga. With Yukinobu Tatsu’s unique style of writing, it could potentially line up to be one of the best coming-of-age anime. Reports suggest that it could soon get an anime adaptation.

2. Fire Punch
Fire Punch is written by Tatsuki Fujimoto. It started in 2016 and ended in 2018. The story of Fire Punch is an intriguing one. The Earth has been frozen to its depth by an Ice Witch. The Ice Witch has a special ability known as ‘blessings’. The main characters, Agni (brother) and Luna (sister), can regenerate. They use their powers to help other people.
Fire Punch is a thrilling manga. Fans are surprised to see that it has not been animated yet. Compared to other manga, it has only 8 volumes. There is a rumor going on about Fire Punch getting an anime adaptation by MAPPA. But nothing has been finalized yet.
1. Psyren
Toshiaki Iwashiro created a masterpiece with Pysren. The manga debuted in 2007 and ended in 2010. With 16 volumes, Psyren revolves around a boy named Ageha Yoshina. After beating up a bully for a bounty of 10,000 Yen, he finds a mysterious card with Psyren written on it. He picks it up, and soon weird things start to happen around him.
Psyren is a pure entertainer, and the manga will keep its readers on the edge of their seats. Fans believe that it definitely deserves an anime adaptation. A good studio would turn it into a gem of a show.
