Valorant right now holds the top spot for being one of the most popular titles in the world. Its intricate map settings, diverse character roster, and captivating gameplay have made the game where it is today. For a long time, console players were exempted from this fun.
But as of June 14, 2024, they have also joined the party, as the game is now available on console through a limited beta phase. However, there is something that is still missing in the console version of the game, which is hurting a lot now.
No Remake and Surrender Options in the Valorant Console

Recently, a fan shared his miserable experience of playing competitive matches of Valorant on console, but without the remake and surrender option. Yes, as of now, there is no option to surrender or remake in the game on the console.
Playing ranked without the surrender option is miserable.

He stated it’s pretty bad to play competitive matches in lower ranks where throwers and leavers are more common. Despite their exit, you can’t vote out the match for a surrender. Just imagine that you are playing a competitive match and one or two players from your team exit the match, leaving your team with a three-man squad. From then on, it would be nearly impossible to beat a five-man team with a three-man squad.
For the rest of the match, you have to carry on the 3v5 situation to get thrashed ultimately at the end with a huge RR loss, as you don’t have any other option. Yes, you too can forcefully leave the match, but that will put a huge blow on your ELO, more than what you would have gotten after losing that match. You might get a ban as well.

As of now, there is no difference between the game’s PC and console versions. But the developers might have missed a major difference. The remake and surrender option came up with a strange bug. Many players have reported that launching either the remake or surrender option in the game on consoles would lead to breaking the game.

That means after the voting period is done, none of the keys will work anymore. You won’t be able to buy weapons; clicking any option won’t make any difference. The main menu doesn’t appear, and if it does, then it becomes unusable.
Some have even informed me that the cursor has completely vanished from the team, making it extremely difficult to do anything further. The community thinks this is a UI bug, and there’s no current fix for it. All you have to do is restart the game to get rid of this.
🎮 CONSOLE PLAYERS 🎮
We are disabling the ability to surrender and remake on console due to a bug that may cause players to lose control during the game.
We'll keep you posted on when games can return to their usual state.

That’s why, on June 19, just four days after its release on console, Riot decided to disable the surrender and remake options on Valorant. Later, they informed that remake and surrender options would come back on consoles through the 9.02 patch.
Now it’s up to Riot to bring up a viable fix for one of the most important features in the competitive scenario of the game.
