Vampire Survivors has got several updates, adding new content to the game since its launch including free updates and expansions. Poncle has now announced the 1.8.0 patch update for Vampire Survivors that is due to launch soon and will bring a brand-new gameplay experience in the form of a new mini-story mode Adventures.
The developer had previously teased Adventures describing it as a “remix” of content that will add more to the game via new stage progression and descriptions. Poncle has now revealed more about Adventures via a FAQ and what it will bring for players.
Vampire Survivors Is Getting a Mini Story Mode Adventures
Poncle recently announced that it is working on something for Vampire Survivors and has finally revealed the Adventures mode. The developer released a FAQ to reveal the mini-story mode Adventures and stated that each Adventure will have its own progression path, allowing players to start from the beginning and it will not affect their main progressions.
Players will face custom challenges in the Adventures mode with a limited set of gears and it will not make them lose their unlocks in the base game. This also means that players will not be able to use their upgrades from the main game. Here’s how Poncle described Adventures in Vampire Survivors:
Adventures are self-contained miniature story modes that reset and remix the game’s content, following the Survivors cast on a series of wacky sidequests.
The Adventures will be available for free. However, some Adventures will be a part of expansions for DLC content and players will need to own the DLC to play such Adventures. Every Adventure will be divided into parts or chapters with certain characters, items, and objectives for players to fulfill to win such as surviving for a certain amount of time or killing a specific number of enemies. The Adventures will also “offer a little bit of lore text,” connecting the “whole adventure.”

Players’ progress in the base game will not be carried to the Adventures but players will bring along their Relics from the main game as well as the game modes that they have unlocked such as Hyper and Inverse. Players will also not get much from the Adventures to bring back to the base game. They will only return with “a bountiful cache of Coins” that will be available to use in the main game and a few new Relics as the Adventures might have new ways to unlock base game Relics.
There will be three Adventures available at launch; two from the main game and one Adventure will be linked to The Legacy of Moonspell DLC. The Adventure linked to The Legacy of Moonspell DLC will have “a series of original twists, featuring remixed environments, characters, and weapons.” For the Adventures in the main game, Poncle stated that one will have reworked classic content, a serious storyline, and an opportunity to get unlocks earlier while the other will be just “absurd.”
The Adventures in Vampire Survivors will vary in playtime with each having a few missions. The first few adventures might be one or two hours in length but the following ones could be longer or shorter. After players complete an Adventure, it will be “Ascended,” meaning that players will obtain one Ascension point that they can use to boost Luck, Growth, Curse, and Greed. The first Ascension point will boost the stat by 20%, the second by 10%, and every point after will improve it by 5%.
The Adventures will unlock during the main game and for players owning the Legacy of the Moonspell DLC, Adventures will be available after they unlock the Dairy Plant. Adventures will also be available to play in local co-op mode but will have no vampires. The Adventures in Vampire Survivors will launch for Xbox, Steam, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices but no specific release date has been revealed yet.
