Professional Wrestling is more often referred to as the WWE rather than by the actual name of the sport itself, which is a testament to the immense cultural impact that the company had on the entire landscape of the sport, and CEO Vince McMahon was the visionary behind that vision. Today, WWE is known as the premier sports entertainment label globally.
But just when the company was at the precipice of taking that next big step for its future, the CEO saw himself facing a lawsuit. Recently, one of the former employees Janel Grant has come forward to accuse McMahon of s*xual misconduct and trafficking when she worked with him in the past, which has led him to submit his resignation with TKO Group Holdings.
Vince McMahon Resigns From His Post After S*xual Misconduct Charges By Former Employee
Alongside the iconic superstars from the WWE roster from the past and the present, the face of Vince McMahon has always been one of the most memorable in the sport, primarily because he was the man who made the company what it is today. In 2023, the CEO made another big change by merging the WWE and UFC labels, leading to the creation of TKO Group Holdings, Inc.

But now, just when the Professional Wrestling label signed a streaming deal with entertainment giant Netflix to stream Monday Night RAW on the platform from 2025, former company employee Janel Grant has come forward to accuse the CEO of WWE with s*xual misconduct and trafficking charges. Following these allegations going public, McMahon has submitted his resignation from the Board of Directors of TKO and the WWE (via Variety).
Grant has claimed that McMahon had s*xually abused her and trafficked her to other men as a pawn to secure talent deals. She has also accused former WWE executive John Laurinaitis, who was formerly the company’s head of talent relations, of being involved in all of this as well, allegedly also being the one Grant was trafficked to by McMahon.
McMahon has, of course, issued a public statement, claiming that these allegations were baseless and false and that he has all the intentions to prove this to be the case in the legal proceedings that will soon follow.

In the lawsuit filed by Grant, an unspecified amount of monetary compensation is also demanded as payment for damages to her mental and physical health. While McMahon’s reps didn’t answer right off the bat back then, reps from TKO Group Holdings came forward, stating that they, too, would be investigating this matter internally.
Monday Night RAW and SmackDown, streaming on WWE Network.
