The messy separation of Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards had been the headlines of the tabloids back in 2005 after the latter filed a petition to divorce from the actor while she was pregnant with their second child. The legalization took effect in 2006, after all the explosive behind-the-scenes that were revealed in court.
It was declared that the Young Guns actor assaulted his wife and threatened her life to the point that he called her names in front of their children. Not only that, but Sheen was also accused of being addicted to gambling as well as frequenting websites with underage girls performing s*xual acts.

Denise Richards admitted in her declaration that filing for divorce was a difficult task that she had to do but was necessary for her and her children’s well-being. She confessed to experiencing multiple threats of violence and words that suggested Charlie Sheen would kill her. As per The Smoking Gun, Richards recounted her ex-husband saying: “I hope you f—king die, b—h!”
Apparently, Sheen was caught by his wife visiting inappropriate websites that featured “very young girls, who looked underage to me with pigtails, braces, and no p—c hair performing oral s-x with each other.” The site also had “gay p—graphy also involving very young men who also did not look like adults.”
Moreover, Sheen was also part of several websites where he would look for women to have s-x with, and his profile picture displayed an “erect p—s.”
Richards revealed that her ex-husband also used vulgar language on her during their heated argument over voice mails. In one of the transcripts of his messages, Sheen reportedly said:
“You’re a piece of s—t f—king liar, and I hope you f—king rot in hell. So f—k you. I hope I never f—king talk to you again, you f—king c—t. F—k you. You’re a coward and a liar and a f—king n—ger alright so f—k you.”
Charlie Sheen was also accused of being an irresponsible father to their children. Richard’s team divulged in front of the court that the actor once urged her to abort their firstborn. When she was preparing for labor for their second child, Sheen was focused on his betting vices.
Denise Richards Recalled Tragic Split From Charlie Sheen
Denise Richards reflected on her chaotic divorce from Charlie Sheen during a conversation via Divorced Not Dead podcast:
“The behind-the-scenes stuff was way worse than what was out there. It’s very funny because a lot of people think on the outside, things are great. No offense to him, but I think he would take that and understand what I’m saying. It was very toxic.”
Richards shared in another interview with Just B with Bethenny Frankel podcast that she did not leave Sheen during the time he was starting to have substance abuse relapse again:
“I was with him during all of that. But by the way, I could have, rightfully so, and I think I would have deserved every f—king penny with what I had to deal with. The money was the last thing we dealt with. It was more about the custody [of our daughters] and all of that stuff.”
It was a dark and tumultuous time in Richards’ and her children’s lives, but all that is now behind them. The actress also previously revealed her return to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
