As movie theater businesses are finding some life brought back to the box office, Walt Disney Studios have once again shuffled their release dates for all of their upcoming blockbusters and films. Three of which will be able to stream on Disney+ but, let’s get down to the nit and gritty.

First up, let’s talk about this year’s film release schedule for Marvel Studios. With Phase 4 off to a promising start, the long-delayed release of Scarlett Johanson’s Black Widow will finally make the jump to theaters. Like with Disney’s latest release of Raya and the Last Dragon, Black Widow will also be available to stream at home via Premier Access and is scheduled for July 9th!  With that news came a brand new poster which you can see below. Black Widow is directed by Cate Shortland. The film stars Scarlett Johanson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Rachel Weisz, O.T. Fagbenle, and William Hurt.

Now for the bad news. With Black Widow coming out in July, Disney has moved Marvel Studios’ second film, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, to September 3rd. To me personally, I’m not surprised considering we haven’t gotten a poster or a teaser yet. Anyway, Shang-Chi is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. The film stars Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Tony Leung, Michelle Yeoh, Ronny Chieng, Meng’er Zhang, Fala Chen, and Florian Munteanu.

On the positive side, Golden Globe winner Chloe Zhao’s Eternals stays on target for November 5. Sony’s Spider-Man: No Way Home also is staying put on December 17th. Let’s just pray and hope that these release dates stick.

Now on to the Disney side of things. The upcoming Emma Stone prequel Cruella De Vil film will still be making its debut in theaters on May 28th. However, much like Raya and Black Widow the movie will also be getting a simultaneous release via Premier Access. Cruella is directed by Craig Gillespie. The movie stars Emma Stone, Emma Thompson, Mark Strong, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Jamie Demetriou.

Then there’s Disney and Pixar’s latest movie Luca. You’ll be happy to know that the film is streaming on Disney+ June 18th at no additional cost. Much like with Soul, I wouldn’t have minded if I paid the PA price on the service but that’s just me. Luca is directed by the first-time director Enrico Casarosa. The movie’s voice cast includes Jacob Trembly, Jack Dylan Grazer, Emma Berman, Marco Barricelli, Saverio Raimondo, Maya Rudolph, and Jim Gaffigan.

Lastly, the mouse house has revealed when their 20th Centruy Studios movies will be arriving on the big screen. Ryan Reynold’s Free Guy opens on August 13, the long-delayed Kingsman prequel; The King’s Man; will release on December 22, Deep Water; starring Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas; is scheduled for January 14, and Death on the Nile arrives on February 11.

I’m a huge geek when it comes to things like Marvel/DC, Star Wars, anime, etc. Bit of a movie buff. Disney kid at heart.
