The Warhammer 40K universe is ready to make a comeback with its latest release, Space Marine 2, in the latter half of 2024. Space Marine 2 is a third-person action shooter set in the grim, dark universe of Warhammer 40K. It has been the most anticipated game from Saber Interactive, and it is also the one they have been preparing for for a very long time.
Saber Interactive has been in the development process for a long time with Space Marine 2, and it has been a thorough and well-thought-out endeavor taken on by them to bring the game to the world by 2024.
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is Action-Packed
Space Marine 2 puts players in the middle of an intergalactic war against the Tyranids for control over an imperial solar system. The game puts players right into action from the get-go, which is going to be a unique aspect of the game that has never been seen before.
A few days ago, Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment released a behind-the-scenes trailer for the game, titled ‘Developer Diary’, which gave a glimpse into what went behind making a mammoth of a game. Tim Willits, the chief creative officer at Saber Interactive, shared his thoughts on the making of the game. He said:
We Feel that it is the combination of all the things we worked so hard for so many years to do, come to life.
Space Marine 2 has been in production for a long time, and a lot of thought has been put into its story and gameplay since its inception.
Oliver Hollis-Leick, the creative director of the game, drew heavy inspiration from black library novels like ‘No No Fear’ to get inside the characters’ minds and add depth to the narrative.
Leick expressed his desperation to get a hold of this game for a very long time. He said:
The Truth is that we’ve been kind of circling like sharks around Games Workshop for a long time trying to get hold of this game.
Space Marine 2 is large in size and scale, with action in the sky and on the land with huge swamp armies, heavy explosions, and difficult boss fights, with some map extensions to make the players feel more immersed in the Warhammer 40K universe.
The Warhammer 40K Universe
The universe of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is set in a world that is torn apart by an intergalactic war between Tyranids and Space Marines. Tyranids are insect-looking aliens that act as a hivemind that nearly overwhelmed the Ultramarines in previous conflicts.
The Ultra Marines are looked upon as angels sent from the heavens to protect people, and they hold a very respectable stature in society. Normal soldiers and people rarely get a glimpse of God’s angels.
Space Marine 2 is the most anticipated game of the series and continues the story of Lieutenant Titus, who is a member of the most elite force of the Space Marine guild known as the Ultra Marines. The game is set to release on September 9, 2024.
