Jujutsu Kaisen is going through a crucial phase. Initially, season 2 started with a light-hearted story of Satoru Gojo’s earlier days in Jujutsu Tech. But after that, it became dark with death and blood all around. Then came the Shibuya Incident arc. There will be several moments that are important for the story to progress. One of them was Satoru Gojo getting sealed by Kenjaku.

While Gojo got sealed, his former nemesis, Toji Fushiguro, was reincarnated and wreaking havoc. Megumi Fushiguro, his son, was trying to stop him but was failing to do it. When the fight was about to reach its climax, Toji asked Meguma a question. After Megumi answered him, he happily stabbed himself in the head and went back to the land of the dead.

Toji Fushiguro was born in the Zenin clan, yet he did not have a single drop of cursed energy in his body. But he was gifted with a heavenly physicality. During his fight with Gojo Satoru, he dominated him throughout and killed him. If it was not for his Six Eyes, Gojo would not been able to revive himself and kill him. In the same way, Toji was dominating Megumi during the Shibuya Incident arc.

But before the end, he asked Megumi his name. He answered by saying Megumi Fushiguro. Hearing this, Toji had a smile on his face and felt happy since his son had chosen his name instead of the Zenin clan. After that, he killed himself. Even though Toji knew his son, Megumi did not know who his father was. So, there was no point in sacrificing himself.

It was weird for the Ten Shadows user to see someone killing themselves in such a situation. It has practically no meaning to him. If he had known he was fighting, the emotions would have been different. Toji Fushiguro’s satisfaction had no meaning to him. But one thing is for sure, if it was not Megumi Fushiguro, there was no way of stopping Toji Fushiguro.

From Megumi’s perspective, the death had no meaning, but from the Jujutsu Kaisen‘s perspective, it was a boon. It was a boon because, Toji got his personal satisfaction after seeing his son and the plot remains intact since Toji will not go on a rampage.

Toji knew he could not take care of his child. So, he abandoned him and went back to his old job. Before dying at the hands of Satoru Gojo, he asked him to take care of his son and not let the Zenin clan take him. When Gojo first met Megumi, he was shown to despise his father because he abandoned him. Moreover, Megumi was just an infant when Toji left, so there was no way he would recognize him.
