Sony is busy expanding its Spider-Man universe. After Venom and Morbius, Dakota Johnson is ready to rock the world of superheroes as Madame Web in Sony’s next flick. Starring in her first action as well as a superhero movie, the actress will be playing the fictional psychic mutant with extraordinary abilities.

While Madame Web is a cool character with several secret abilities, it seems shooting for the spider film has made Johnson discover several of her own secret abilities. One of them is her just-discovered prowess when it comes to stunt driving. Apparently, she is so good that it might even put Tom Cruise at risk.

Talk about stunts and action and Tom Cruise is bound to appear in the conversation. From jumping off planes, helicopters, or high-rise buildings, to climbing the Burj Khalifa or having the longest underwater breath hold, there is hardly a stunt that Cruise cannot do.

This exemplary ability of his can be seen throughout Mission: Impossible movies, where, despite his age and injuries, the actor continues to set a new record with each successive movie. However, now the actor is apparently facing a tough, yet unexpected competition from none other than the Fifty Shades of Grey-famed actress, Dakota Johnson.

Starring as the popular Marvel character, Madame Web, Johnson plays a young version of the psychic mutant in the yet-to-be-released film of the same name. While talking to Entertainment Weekly regarding the film, the actress revealed how she just discovered her gift for stunt driving and how, surprisingly, good she is at it,

“I got to do a day of stunt driving work, and I’m really good at it, it seems! I mean, I can do some really wild things with a car. I drove an ambulance. I drove a taxicab. I drove everything in the movie — except for flying through the air and out of a building. But other than that, I’m like, ‘Watch out, Tom Cruise.'”

While it would be tough to have Cruise replaced as a stunt icon, Johnson might perhaps someday replace the actor in a potentially rebooted version of the billion-dollar-grossing franchise.

Dakota Johnson On Her Favorite Days On Set

Starring in a superhero movie is never easy for it needs immense physical power and mental ability thanks to the challenging nature of the films. Even Dakota Johnson likely had to build up her physical strength to ace the potential fighting scenes in the movie.

However, when it came to stunt driving, Johnson seemed to be naturally good at the activity. Whether it was driving around in an ambulance or other high-octane vehicles, Johnson could do it all and thoroughly enjoyed the experience including the explosions, crashes, and rash driving.

As for her favorite day on set, it was when the stunt team made a car crash into a diner.

“I didn’t get to actually drive it into the diner, which is really a bummer. I really wanted to, but I guess they don’t want to put their lead actor in actual danger, unless you’re Tom Cruise.”

Adding on that she’s getting there and working on improving her stunts, well, we cannot wait to see her in her very own action film, whether it is a Mission: Impossible reboot or otherwise.

Sony’s Madame Web releases in theatres on February 14.
