Warner Bros. Planning a Hogwarts Legacy TV Series

Warner Bros. Games recently released a Harry Potter spinoff game, Hogwarts Legacy. The game was not expected to do very well due to the controversy surrounding the author of the Harry Potter novel series, J.K. Rowling. Many even called out for a boycott of the author and the game to oppose her.

However, Hogwarts Legacy seems to be doing much better despite all the backlash following J.K. Rowling’s controversy. Harry Potter fans who would have followed the franchise straight from the book would surely not want to lose the opportunity to catch up with the story. So far, the studio has released the game only for PS5, Xbox series X/S, and PC. The release for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch is still on hold and is set to release soon. Hogwarts Legacy for PS4 and Xbox One will be released on April 4, 2023, and for Nintendo Switch will release on July 25, 2023.

The game allows its players to explore Hogwarts along with the wizarding village, Hongmeade. However, the game still faced criticism for the anti-semitic plot following The Goblin Rebellion. Although the game turn out to be much more successful than people expected it to be, the same cannot be the case for the TV series as well.
