The DCU is currently going through a bit of a rough patch thanks to James Gunn and Peter Safran. Their new slate is not getting the support of the fans they would’ve hoped. However, Ezra Miller’s The Flash seems to be sort of a ray of hope for the DC Studios with the movie releasing this year.

Given the fact that this movie is releasing under the new leadership of the two new heads of the Studios, The Flash has a lot of pressure on its shoulders to prove to the audience that DCU has still got it. A movie showing off time travel and multiverses and having Michael Keaton returning as Batman seems to be quite the recipe for success and the Studios seem to agree. Apparently, The Flash and The Dark Knight trilogy are at the same level for them.

Lead actor Ezra Miller has been in the headlines for a number of negative reasons, including multiple allegations of abuse, and The Flash’s reception seems to be a bit uncertain. However, they have issued an apology to the public following their rogue behavior, and noted that they were in “ongoing treatment.” We do not know if the public is ready to welcome the actor yet as fans seem divided.

However, The Flash could be a redeeming point for the actor as the movie is apparently giving competition to some of the best movies in the DCU – The Dark Knight trilogy. According to a report by Variety, studio insiders are extremely excited about the upcoming film and the excitement hasn’t been this high since Christian Bale’s Batman movies.

Given the confidence they have in the movie goes on to say the Studios aren’t kidding around with The Flash. This is further backed by the fact that the movie marks the return of the Studios to the Super Bowl as a trailer for the film is all set to be released during Super Bowl LVII on February 12, 2023. We sure hope The Flash lives up to these high expectations!

Comparing a movie to The Dark Knight trilogy starring Bale is not something to be taken lightly. The trilogy comprises Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises. The movies have captured the hearts of audiences all over the world and are a triumph of storytelling and filmmaking. It is often compared to the newer superhero films as the trilogy has set the bar quite high for the genre. Bale and Heath Ledger’s performances as Batman/Bruce Wayne and Joker in the films are nothing short of iconic and the two have gone down in history as some of the best portrayals of all time

The movies received widespread acclaim from both fans and critics and were nominated for a lot of Academy Awards, some of which the team won. The Dark Knight trilogy continues to be a fan favorite even after years of release and still flaunts a massive fan base.

In the end, the fact that the Studios are excited about The Flash as much as they were excited about some of the best movies of the genre goes on to say that fans must keep their expectations high for the film!
