But Will Smith has recently plummed his well-built reputation in the 94th Academy Awards held in March 2022 as he slapped Chris Rock on stage over a joke directed towards his wife. Jada Pinkett Smith too put a dent in her book when she tried to deny multiple rumors about her relationship with August Alsina.
Jada Pinkett Smith’s Entanglement With August Alsina
Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith was in a secret relationship with an American Singer August Alsina. August Alsina was introduced to Pinkett Smith by her son Jaden Smith at a London Music Festival in 2015. The social media call it a short-lived publicized “entanglement” as their secret affair came to light in 2020 after Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith openly talked about it in the Red Table Talk. During this show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor seemed visibly angry and pushed Jada Smith to a point where she confessed her secret affair with the singer.
In the Red Table Talk, Jada Pinkett Smith revealed that,
“We decided we were going to separate for a period of time, I got into an entanglement with August… it was a relationship. I was in a lot of pain, and I was very broken.”
After her statement when Will Smith asked her what she was looking for in that relationship, she replied,
“I just wanted to feel good, it had been so long since I felt good,” Jada began. And it was really a joy to just help heal somebody. I think that has a lot to do with my co-dependency, which is another thing I had to learn to break in the cycle.”
Later Will Smith confirmed the rumor of Jada Pinkett Smith and August Alsina have been in a relationship during the time when Smith and his wife were taking a break from their relationship but were still married to each other.
August Alsina’s Song Alludes His Short-Lived Romance
In April 2020, August Alsina released a new song Shake The World where he speaks about his short-lived romance with Jada Smith in an indirect way. One line from the song goes, “Well, of course, some s*** is bound to go down when you tangled up with the world’s favorite”, which is said to be directed towards Pinkett Smith reminiscing about their entanglement. Currently, Pinkett Smith is 50 years old and the young singer crossing 29 years of age as their relationship ended over 2 years ago.
Alsina has openly claimed that Will Smith has given him the blessing to continue his relationship with Jada Smith though Jada Smith has denied anything of that sort. Alsina revealed all this on a talk show The Breakfast Club where he said,
“I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership … he gave me his blessing”
After his shocking message on this open media platform, Pinkett Smith’s legal agent denied anything related to this statement and stated that it was “absolutely not true!!”. Despite all these situations, Will Smith openly defended his wife Jada Pinkett Smith at the 2022 Academy Awards when he slapped comedian Chris Rock on stage, in front of hundreds of people as he passed a joke directed towards Jada Smith’s hair condition.
