It was back in 2021 when NBC approached Schur in hopes of rebooting Kevin Costner’s 1989 film Field of Dreams and turning it into a seven-episode miniseries. The idea was ultimately canceled but not without some casting details that were revealed. As per a post on X, Andre Braugher (Captain Raymond Holt from B99) was going to portray James Earl Jones’s character (Terence Mann) from the original movie.

Alongside Braugher, Kristen Bell and William Jackson Harper (from The Good Place) were also a part of the series. Last but not least, Nick Offerman (from The Last of Us fame) was also a part of the show before the idea ultimately dropped.
