The sign that an actor has achieved everything in Hollywood may not necessarily mean them having something as prestigious as an Oscar Award, but it sure does mean that the world recognizes you without fail. So, it’s no wonder that the entire industry recognizes Ben Affleck as one of the most successful and talented stars in the industry today. Being the proud receiver of two Academy Awards, the star is revered in the public eye today just as well.
Being a very talented and gifted actor as well as an equally talented director, the star has made a name for himself when it comes to giving superhits to the audience, whether in front of the camera or behind it. Apart from being a delight to work with, the Pearl Harbor star is also known to be a loyal man to his hometown of Boston, Massachusetts, so much so that he will reject the representation of any other state’s team from his hands, something that became a hindrance on the sets of Gone Girl.
Why Ben Affleck’s Decision Almost Shut Down The Production Of Gone Girl
Known for his vast talents in both acting and directing, the one thing where people might know Ben Affleck invests his heart and passion in is his love for his hometown of Boston. Seen countless times on the streets of the city, or seen selling donuts at a Red Sox game in the stadium, the Batman Vs Superman star has always stood loyal to the city no matter what. One time, this strong loyalty of his almost cost him a film.

During the days of shooting on the sets of Gone Girl, Affleck was shooting a scene in the film where he had to put on a baseball cap on his head to hide from the crowd who was seeing his face on live news. Thus, director David Fincher wanted him to wear a New York Yankee baseball cap. But due to his loyalty to Boston, he refused to wear the cap at any cost. This caused a difference in opinion between both of them, which shut down the production for the next four days.

Fincher said:
“I really wanted it to be a Yankee’s cap, but being from Boston and not being very professional as an actor, Ben refused to wear a Yankee’s cap. We did not come to blows, but we had to shut down production for 4 days as we negotiated with Patrick what would be the best thing for the movie”
At last, they both settled on a common design of the cap and production resumed. Just goes to show the extent to which the man is willing to go through to stay the loyal kid of Boston.
