Tom Cruise is certainly one of the most iconic actors in the history of Hollywood. He has made a name for himself starring in the hit franchise Mission: Impossible, where Cruise portrays the role of Ethan Hunt. Interestingly enough, Alan Ritchson recently revealed the name of his idol, and it’s not Tom Cruise.
Tom Cruise is always in the top 3 list of action actors in Hollywood for good reason. After all, even at his age, he always does his own stunts. He is also one of the nicest people in the industry and gained fanfare in a big way.
Alan Ritchson Has An Interesting Pick For His Idol
Alan Ritchson, portraying the character Jack Reacher, has been compared to classic action movie heroes such as Sylvester Stallone’s John Rambo and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Commando character, John Matrix for good reason. After all, Lee Child’s Jack Reacher character is a former Marine who takes matters into his own hands.
While speaking to Variety, Alan Ritchson considers himself a big fan of those actors and the aforementioned characters. That said, Alan Ritchson revealed that his biggest idol is none other than Harrison Ford.
“The way that he can make you laugh as he grunts the line through gritted teeth … we don’t have a lot of men that can do that these days,” Ritchson said. “But it’s something that I like to bring to characters: that grizzled malice while finding a way to remain likable.”
Harrison Ford has been part of quite a few iconic film franchises over the course of his career, most of which have become significant parts of pop culture in general. This includes the beloved Indiana Jones franchise for good reason.
Indiana Jones And The Dial of Destiny Was A Box Office Dud
Indiana Jones And The Dial of Destiny was released in theaters all around the world earlier this year, with huge expectations from fans. Unfortunately, their wishes didn’t come true at all as Harrison Ford’s film proved to be a disappointment.
Indiana Jones And The Dial of Destiny received a Rotten Tomatoes score of 69% while it got an IMDB rating of 6.6 – all of which meant that it wasn’t necessarily a terrible film, but nothing worthwhile either.
According to Box Office Mojo, Indiana Jones And The Dial of Destiny has grossed almost $384 million at the Worldwide Box Office. Therefore, the film was a Box Office bomb, resulting in a loss of $100 million for Disney and simply a catastrophic failure on all accounts.
