God of War is one of the more notable first-party franchises under the PlayStation Studios banner and the gaming community is eager to see where the Ghost of Sparta will go next. Kratos is a killing machine built for war and anything in his hands is a deadly weapon, however; some are deadlier than most.
The retired god had an impressive loadout throughout his career. The original trilogy painted him as a bloodthirsty monster as he slaughtered en masse and without remorse which will forever haunt him as he lives out the rest of his days with one powerful reminder.
God of War Fans Are Convinced One Iconic Weapon Will Make a Return in the Next Sequel
Santa Monica Studio spent the last few years crafting the perfect redemption arc for a video game character and it resonated well with the gaming community. The fans were curious as to what Atreus could have seen through the rift during the climactic battle of God of War Ragnarok and learn more about the future, unfortunately, the young demigod made a tough decision.
Fans are eager to see where the developers could potentially take Kratos beyond the Norse Saga, especially now that the reign of the Aesir Gods is over and peace can flourish in the Nine Realms. Regardless of where the retired god will travel next, fans anticipate that his iconic Blades of Chaos will not be far behind and will find a way to be of use in upcoming endeavors.

The gaming community was surprised to see the opening of the Norse Saga with Kratos without his iconic blades and was brandished with a new recallable axe from his late wife. The thought of moving on from his past crossed the fans’ minds and it was a pleasant surprise to see the developers find a way to incorporate them into the story under dire circumstances.
The game developers introduced a new weapon in Ragnarok that offered a great alternative to Kratos’ loadout. The gaming community is convinced that the Leviathan Axe served its purpose in the Norse Saga and should be laid to rest with the memory of Faye as Kratos moves on in life and uses his godly powers and immortality for good.

Kratos reluctantly picked up his old weapons in the Norse Saga when it came down to save his son and immediately dismissed the idea of it becoming a family heirloom. No matter how despised the blades, they have uses that could benefit others around them regardless of their bloody past, Kratos gained hope that his actions would slowly clean the stains.
Ares bestowed the blades on Kratos to help him defeat his enemies and make him into a bloodthirsty monster hellbent on chaos and destruction. The retired god did his best to avoid falling back to his old form and continued to remind himself what would happen if loses control, the Aesir Gods were lucky to face a much wiser and more disciplined version of Kratos.
No matter how hard he tried, the blades would find a way to return to his life. Weapons that caused nothing but grief ultimately paved the way to victory as it was needed to save the life of Atreus and start Ragnarok.
The past made Kratos hate these cursed weapons but realized it was up to him to change its legacy with good and honor. Nothing is set in stone and these blades saved lives more than it has taken in the hands of the retired god and could be part of his journey for self-improvement.
