Quentin Tarantino has done a great contribution to the film industry who had eyes on the James Bond franchise as well. “After ‘Pulp Fiction,’ I tried to get the rights to Casino Royale away from the Broccolis, but that didn’t happen. That wouldn’t have been just throwing my hat in the franchise ring; that would have been subversion on a massive level, if I could have subverted Bond.”

He was confident about subverting the franchise with his version and even pitched the idea to Brosnan. But it didn’t come to fruition.

He continued,

He recalled,

“He was pounding the table, saying, ‘You’re the best James Bond, I wanna do James Bond,’ and it was very close quarters in the restaurant and I thought, please calm down, but we don’t tell Quentin Tarantino to calm down,

Brosnan pitched that idea to Barbara Broccoli and her half-brother Michael G. Wilson, who were the brain behind the famous James Bond franchise.

He wanted to do James Bond, and I went back to the shop and told them but it wasn’t mean to be.” Brosnan added. “No Quentin Tarantino for James Bond.”

His project never got the green light. As for Brosnan, he portrayed the role till 2002 in four Bond films. Daniel Craig took over the role in 2006’s Casino Royale which was a reboot of the franchise.

All of the classic Bond movies are streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
