The hit Amazon Prime show, created by Eric Kripke – The Boys was renewed for season 4 in June 2022. Although they wrapped up production by April 2023, the show was delayed due to the Hollywood strikes. But since recently the strikes concluded, Prime Video unveiled the next chapter of the show at CCXP 2023.
Heavily focusing on Antony Starr‘s Homelander, the trailer also teased a new introduction from Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The actor who previously played the role of John Winchesters, father of Jensen Ackles’s Dean in Supernatural, was seen sharing a scene with Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) in the trailer of the show.
Building up from Gen V‘s finale and the events of the previous season, The Boys season 4 appears to be shaping up intense moments in the show. While the trailer appeared to be fairly brief, it ended with Karl Urban and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character sharing a drink and laughing together. This suggests the two characters are probably good friends.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s First Look in The Boys Stunned Fans
When The Boys announced the introduction of Jensen Ackles’ father from Supernatural, Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the show, fans speculated the actor to play the role of Robert Vernon, aka Tek-Knight. However, Gen V debunked this theory by featuring the particular character, which confirmed that Dean Morgan would be playing someone else.
Further, according to ComingSoon, it was expected that Jeffrey Dean Morgan could play the role of John Godolkin. And certainly, playing the deeply despicable character can be an easy tackle for him. Later on, it was also hinted that Dean Morgan could play the role of Malchemical, who in the comics universe is a Supe.
Possessing great shape-shifting capabilities, his character could alter density in any way he chooses. Anyway, since there are a plethora of characters that Eric Kripke can hand over to Dean Morgan, fans are excited to uncover the suspense.
