Kurt Russel and Goldie Hawn have been together for 40 years. The couple has celebrated love like no other, and in their 4-decade-long relationship, they have created ample, inherently exciting memories.
Russell and Hawn first met on the set of The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band. Debutant Hawn was 21 then and Russel was just 16, although he had starred in a few films to his credit. About 15 years later in 1983, the duo reconnected with the movie, Swing Shift and continued their relationship.

Marvel star Kurt Russell, 72, and Goldie Hawn’s first date was an adventurous thrill ride, it was definitely spicy. Russell has never attempted to hide their adventurous ride from the public. First, the duo went on their first date escaping the set with the excuse that they were going for dance practice. As the moments were steamy between them, the couple went to swing dancing at the Playboy Club in Los Angeles. Hawn, now 77, wanted to bring him to her house but she did not have the key at the moment as her house was renovating, what happened next was pretty interesting.
“We eventually found our way upstairs looking at imaginary furniture and we were in the imaginary bedroom now and we are realistically having s*x when the police walked in. We had to break into the place to get in so the next thing I see is a flashlight and Goldie and I are like ‘What?’ It was bizarre and weird. We were told to go get a hotel room which we did. That was our first date. It was a lot of fun. I can’t believe it was a long time ago.” Russell said.
It was a thrill ride for the stars, the couple cherished the moment and kept on the relationship to date. However, they have never got married but share 4 children.
Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn Never Got Married
Despite a 40-year-long relationship, the couple never got married. At the 1989 Oscars, the couple pretended to discuss marriage on stage. “We fit in completely to the theme of the show. Because we’re costars, we’re compadres, we’re companions and we’re a couple,” Hawn said. “There’s only one thing we’re not,” Russell replied saying, “Married.” Hawn almost believed it was a proposal.
In 2007, about 20 years of their relationship, Hawn revealed the real reason behind their decision not to tie the knot.
“We have done just perfectly without marrying. I already feel devoted and isn’t that what marriage is supposed to do? So as long as my emotional state is in a state of devotion, honesty, caring and loving, then we’re fine,” she said.
The couple, as Hawn added, are “both independently well-off” and they never had to get a marriage certificate to raise their kids “brilliantly.” “We did a great job there and we didn’t have to get married to do that. I like waking up every day and seeing that he is there and knowing that I have a choice,” Hawn said. There is really no reason to marry, the Overboard actor stated. Perhaps, just being partners without getting married kept their relationship alive for this long.
