Marvel Studios introduced a new superhero team in phase 4 of the MCU. Eternals were introduced to MCU fans in 2021, with a huge cast. The film received mixed reviews from critics and the audience. Fans claimed that the film was packed with too many characters, who lack chemistry. With all the negative reviews from fans and critics, no one expected that there would be a sequel to the film. However, The mid-credit scene from the movie also hints at a possible sequel to the 2021 movie.

Answering the question, Nate Moore said, “I don’t want to spoil anything, but we have not seen the last of those characters.” Although he says that fans have not seen the last of these characters, it is still not confirmed where they would appear next.

During the presentation of Phase 5 and phase 6 at the D23 Expo, the studio did not say anything about the sequel. However, it still doesn’t rule out the possibility of having a sequel in the following phases of the MCU.

What to Expect From Eternals 2?

Except for Richard Madden, Ma Dong-Seok, and Lia McHugh, the rest of the cast is expected to return for the sequel. The mid-credit scene shows Harry Styles as Eros, aka Starfox, and he is also expected to join the sequel.

The story of the sequel may follow where the first film ended. In the mid-credit scene of the movie, Starfox joins Makkari, Druig, and Thena on their ship. He tells them about the mysterious disappearance of Sersi, Kingo, and Phastos and assumes that Arishem has something to do with it. Eros introduces himself and offers his help to find their friends.

The story may follow up where the first film ended. Makkari, Druig, and Thena can go on a journey to find Sersi, Kingo, and Phastos along with Starfox.

There might be a possibility that before the sequel, some characters may feature in other MCU films or series. But the mid-credit scene sets a whole other story for the sequel. Kit Harington is also expected to appear as the Black Knight.
