The team opened up about the creative process behind the show and how ambitious they are feeling with the upcoming season of the series.

When asked about a potential release date for Season 2 of the title, the team gave an indirect answer and stressed that the animation brilliance of the show comes at the expense of money and time spent. The team’s “fondest hope” for the return is 2026.

The prolonged release date would spread despair in the hearts of the fans, but Wu explained how everyone is in “panic mode” because of the timing and budget and shared which production stage the show is in right now. She said,

We’re in panic mode right now because we still have a schedule and we still have a budget, and we’re trying to get all that to talk to each other. We’re in the beginnings of production and getting it started, and everything else is in the planning stages.

As if the news of a 2026 release was not bad enough, the team also stated that the upcoming season will have only six episodes.

In a separate interview with ComicBook.com, Green ensured that everything was going well with the show so far. He said,

We’re excited how it’s coming along. It’s going great. We have the best team you could ask for working, applying all their talent and experience into doing the impossible again. And more of the impossible, and celebrating what we got good at and trying some really new crazy things too.
